My first blog entry

This is my first blog entry and maybe my last. I will be surprised if I ever get around to adding another entry. I’m using this entry to describe some sad and wonderful events that occurred this chaotic year.

My father, Michael A. Hall, passed away on March 19th, 2009 while vacationing in Mexico with my mother. His obituary

After 14 years of working for Cisco Systems, Inc., I was laid off due to a limited restructuring. April 27th, 2009 was my last day of work at Cisco. I will be taking a little time off to reevaluate my career and to explore other opportunities.

My wife and I took a wonderful 17 day whirlwind vacation in Europe that included a 7 day cruise around the Mediterranean to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We visited London, Barcelona, Capri, Sorrento, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Nice, Monaco, Marseille, and Paris.
